Silicone Rubber Intelligence
China Silicone Rubber: Supply Landscape & Grade Cross-Reference
China is now the world's largest silicone rubber producer. For overseas buyers, the question is no longer whether Chinese material can replace imported grades — it is which producer, which compound, and how to verify it before you switch. This page maps the supply landscape and our cross-reference work.
The Supply Landscape
HTV Silicone Compounds
High-temperature-vulcanizing solid silicone rubber is China's most mature segment. Domestic compounders now cover general-purpose molding and extrusion grades, high-tear, flame-retardant, and wire & cable compounds — with batch consistency that has closed most of the gap to imported material.
LSR (Liquid Silicone Rubber)
Liquid silicone rubber capacity has grown fast, driven by consumer electronics, baby care, and automotive demand. Chinese LSR now spans standard injection grades to self-adhesive and optical-clear types, though qualification for regulated applications still needs case-by-case validation.
Specialty Grades
Fluorosilicone, medical-grade, conductive, and high-resilience specialties are the frontier. A small group of domestic producers can match imported performance here — knowing which ones, and verifying it, is where most buyers need help.
Grade Cross-Reference
We are building verified cross-references from the major imported silicone rubber lines to qualified Chinese equivalents — based on TDS comparison, sample testing, and application feedback, not supplier claims. Planned coverage:

Where Buyers Are Switching
Seals & Gaskets
O-rings, gaskets, and profiles for automotive and industrial sealing — compression set and heat aging are the properties that decide grade selection.
Kitchenware & Food Contact
Baking molds, spatulas, and baby products — food-contact compliance (FDA, LFGB) must be verified per compound, not assumed from the supplier's brochure.
Wire & Cable
Insulation and jacketing compounds, including flame-retardant and ceramic-forming types for fire-survival cables.
Medical & Healthcare
Tubing, valves, and wearable components — the most demanding segment for biocompatibility documentation and traceability.
Have a Grade You Need to Replace?
Send us the grade designation or TDS of the silicone rubber you buy today. We will map it against qualified Chinese equivalents, flag where no true equivalent exists, and validate samples before you commit.
